Hello Mr Abbot! Coming out swinging are we! This paid parental leave is it just another of the coalition’s ‘schemes’ to bring in the voters or are they actually going to do something this time? Don’t forget people it is an election year, anything for the votes!
Good plan! I like the way that you tip-toed around the issue of funding this little scheme too. Making those larger money sucking businesses pay for parental needs of Australians. That’s a definite plus for the tax payer if they elect the coalition. Don’t bet on it people they’ve broken promises before and can do it again. Remember Howard’s GST claim. The coalition, ha ha, laughable to say the least.!
Under the coalitions plan there will be a six month paid leave scheme, which will be paid by a levy on businesses earning $5 million or over a year. Apposed to labours plan that will roll out in January 2011, with twelve months leave paid by the tax payers.
So, what made you change your mind Mr Abbot a greater understanding of women or a greater understanding of women as voters. Or maybe the sign of the coalitions ‘dead body’ changed your mind, seeing how you said back in 2002 paid maternity leave will happen ’over this governments dead body.‘ Though, now that your out of office it seems like a mighty fine idea, to whom you or the tax payer may I ask?
